sandbaggers: Ending

Ending

Actually, I like the way it abruptly ended, just like the
final Sandbaggers episode [or the final Blake's 7 episode, etc.]
It seems most British TV series have some abrupt and bizarre ending,
and perhaps this too is custom in British e-mail.

Contrary to the depictions of James Bond and The Sandbaggers,
I understand there is great comraderie in the intelligence community,
with CIA and KGB "opponents" actually meeting and knowing each other
when on station. This came from a _Donahue_ show (and no, I do not
watch such garbgage.) So, it won't be the KGB who leaves anyone
face down in a canal. Perhaps someone in "oppostion."

I am disappointed to find out that there is no real such
position as D-Ops. I found a way to work it into my title on a
batch of business cards I just ordered. Perhaps it will still make
for a good source of conversation at parties. I am the engineering
manager of a small group of designers, with each one assigned to
be Sandbagger #1, Sandbagger #2, etc. One part-time guy was known
as PA-to-D-Ops as we exceeded three in number. Just as in the series
Sandbagger #2 has had the worst fortunes recently. This must sound
corny but it provides a small bit of diversion in an otherwise
boring day.
