Here's an addendum to our recent discussion of the meaning of "sandbag."

I'm a direct-response marketing copywriter, and when I go into business
for myself -- as I plan to some time in, oh, the next 20 years or so --
I'd like to do so as "Sandbagger Communications."

A week or two ago, I checked with Internic who (for the non-techno-geeks
on the list) are the people who keep track of who owns what Internet
domain names, to see whether my dream-URL, http://www.sandbagger.com ,
has been taken yet. Rather to my disappointment, someone has grabbed
it, although they don't have anything on that site yet.

So I emailed the address Internic gave me, and asked them why they chose
"sandbagger," and what it means in their context. Are they fans of the
show? The response I received this morning is printed below:

We publish a newspaper called "The Sandbagger Softball News". Sandbagger
came from the softball teams who "sandbag". Or play below they're [sic]
class
of team to "smoke" the other team.

Our site will feature tournament articles, pictures, general information
about our organization, tournament calendars etc.

Personally, I like my idea better, but no hard feelings. Anyway, there
we go.

PS to PHJD: *Loved* the "Out of Harm's Way" synopsis. When's the
novel coming out?
