Hello fellow sandbaggers, I am very keen to get hold of tapes of the
sandbaggers series. If there's anyone out there who will be taping the
series or has some good copies they could do dubs off I'd like to get in
contact either through the list or direct to my email. I will be able to
cover any costs and if anyones interested I could do a nice set of
sandbaggers video covers for your tapes.
It has been many years since Neil and the boys have beemn on tv here in
Australia. It used to run at about 11.00pm here on channel 9 back about 10
years ago ( at least it seems that long). I remember that when the last ep
screened, a voice over came up during the end credits to announce the reason
the show had finished and the circumstances of Ian McIntoshes disappearance.
Tv Week magazine even did an article entitled ' the sandbaggers mystery man
", alluding to the links that Ian had to the inner sanctum of British
intelligence circles.
By the way, anybody noticed several similarities between the sandbaggers and
the tvseries from the sixties UFO.
Both feature a lead character dedicated to his job,a lonely personal
life,non drinker,even the hairstyle of Burnside and Ed Straker is remarkably
similar. Both work for secret organisations, and strangely enough during the
latter part of the sandbaggers series burnside gets a new secretary, a
Marianne ' Straker " !!!!!!!!!!
