An invitation to Sandbaggers fans private-preview

Greetings, all-

I discovered this series in 1992 when WLIW (Garden City, New York PBS
station) ran it twice during that year, and unfortunately never since. Quite
simply, the best series I've ever seen. The multi-layered plots and terrific
acting have ensured that my wife and I remain addicted to it.

Somewhat less worthily (some might say, but I make no apologies) I have for
the last 37 years been a great fan of Ian Fleming's James Bond, preferring by
far the books to the films. However, I find SB, the Bond films, and the books
hugely entertaining on different levels.

I have now in a sense managed to bring these addictions together. For the
last couple of years I have collaborated with some very talented gentlemen on
a "web-zine" called "Her Majesty's Secret Servant" (<A
HREF="http://www.hmss.com">http://www.hmss.com</A>). One of our departments
is called "The Other Spies", wherein we present articles about other
characters in the fictional secret world.

For the past year I've been working on a submission in praise of "The
Sandbaggers" and it's ready for publication on our site. However, it's not up
at HMSS yet. It's slated for a November debut. I thought I'd give my fellow
virtual Sandbaggers a private invitation to preview it at the following
address:
<A HREF="http://members.aol.com/auricg/sandbaggers/default.htm">
http://members.aol.com/auricg/sandbaggers/default.htm</A>

On the main page, you'll find an introductory article for the uninitiated.
There are also pictures and brief descriptions of the main characters,
pictures of additional cast members, a "Bond connections" page (HMSS is,
after all, a Bond-oriented site), and an episode guide containing in-depth
plot synopses of all 20 episodes (which is why it took so long), spoliers and
all. There are also links to Micky DuPree's FAQ.

If you have time, please check it out. I'd value any comments from fellow
fans, and my hope is to stimulate interest in the show.

Feel free to email me with your comments (and of course, I hope you'll find
time to visit HMSS, too!)

Best regards,
Mike Vincitore
