Some time last year I posted a series of pieces about the real life SIS,
and its role in the UK government, oranisation, management &c.
I received a number of favourable responses to these postings, so I hope
it will seem reasonable to you all if I let you know that I now have a
couple of publications out on British intelligence, to wit:
a journal article in _Intelligence and National Security_ Vol.10 No.4
'Organisational Politics and the Evolution of Britain's Intelligence
Producer/Consumer Interface' -- I apologise for the title; it was
originally a private joke making fun of the US passion for spy jargon,
but since the piece ended up going to print I am now stuck with it!
also, my first book is now out:
_The British Secret Services: An Annotated Bibliography_ (ABC-Clio,
Oxford; Transaction Books, Rutgers NJ)
I thought you might be interested. Both should be findable in University
libraries in due course (I hope). I am currently hatching an evil scheme
to produce another volume, a Historical Dictionary of the Intelligence
Services which will be a global review of the subject, but much remains
to be seen if this project will take off.
Zoom,
Phil
