SIS PHD Passed

I hope that you will all be pleased to hear that my PhD thesis on the SIS,
'Organisational Development of Britain's Secret Intelligence Service
1909-1979' was defended last Thursday with success.

The viva (defence) lasted 50 minutes, the second shortest viva in the
history of the department, the thesis was passed 'without corrections'.

The next task is, of course, to get the thing published as a book.
