Continuing this thread, a show that I have found has a lot of
similarities to the sandbaggers is the british sci fi show UFO. The lead
character is a detached seemingly emotionless person in charge of a
secret organisation. He even has a very similar cropped hairstyle like
Burnside. The series often had situations where innocent sacrifices had
to be made in it's constant battle against its foes. And of course the
main characters name was Straker- where have I heard that hmmmmm.
